摘要
This study examines the relationship between supply chain resilience (SCR) and operational/financial performance of global manufacturing enterprises, with a focus on the differential impacts across developed markets (DMs: U.S., Germany, Japan) and emerging markets (EMs: China, India, Mexico). A mixed-methods research design was implemented, including a quantitative survey of 250 manufacturing firms (with 100+ employees) operating in automotive, electronics, and machinery sectors, and qualitative semi-structured interviews with 18 senior supply chain managers. SCR was measured via a 16-item scale encompassing three dimensions: visibility (ability to track supply chain flows), flexibility (adaptability to disruptions), and collaboration (partnership with suppliers/distributors). The quantitative results indicate that SCR is positively associated with both operational performance (on-time delivery rate, production efficiency) and financial performance (annual revenue growth, profit margin) across all markets. Specifically, firms with high SCR achieved 27.3% higher on-time delivery rates, 19.8% greater production efficiency, 21.5% higher annual revenue growth, and 14.2% larger profit margins compared to firms with low SCR. Notably, the impact of SCR on performance was more pronounced in EMs: EMs firms with high SCR reported 32.1% revenue growth (vs. 18.7% for DMs firms with high SCR), attributed to more frequent supply chain disruptions (e.g., geopolitical tensions, infrastructure gaps) in EMs. Qualitative findings identified key drivers of SCR: investment in digital technologies (e.g., blockchain for traceability, AI for demand forecasting), multi-sourcing strategies, and long-term supplier partnerships. Primary barriers to SCR enhancement included high upfront costs (cited by 85% of respondents), lack of skilled supply chain talent (79%), and resistance to inter-firm data sharing (68%). The study contributes to supply chain management theory by validating the SCR-performance link across market types and provides practical guidance for global manufacturers to prioritize resilience-building initiatives.
