Investigation on the inclusion of animal vocabulary in international Chinese textbooks

The compilation of textbooks is crucial in the international Chinese education industry. Animals are closely related to our daily lives, and animal vocabulary reflects rich cultural connotations. Therefore, animal vocabulary plays an important role in international Chinese education, and attention should be paid to the relevant situation of animal vocabulary in textbooks. Through the analysis and comparison of specific textbooks, the inclusion of animal related vocabulary in the textbooks was examined, and it was found that the compilation of animal related vocabulary in international Chinese textbooks basically conforms to the principles of textbook compilation, leading to conclusions that are targeted, practical, scientific, and interesting. At the same time, there are also problems in the three sets of textbooks, such as a lack of emphasis on vocabulary reproduction, writing, cultural differences in the selection of animal vocabulary, a lack of comprehensiveness, and a lack of comparison of cultural connotations of animal vocabulary. The author has put forward suggestions regarding these issues, in order to contribute to the compilation of animal related vocabulary in international Chinese textbooks.
